OECD launched the 4th annual public sector innovation call on October 14 0 (0)

Opportunity to highlight a good innovation practice of your organization!

The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), in collaboration with the United Arab Emirates Center for Government Innovation Mohammed Bin Rashid, launched its fourth annual innovation call on October 14, 2019.

This call is a crowdsourcing exercise that brings together hundreds of groundbreaking public sector innovation case studies.

The aim is to capture the pulse of public sector innovation, to bring to light the issues that matter most, the areas of interest and the key challenges that are causing change in the way governments innovate.

You can start your preparation right now, in the following ways:

To pay more attention to your proposal, prepare a short 2-3 minute video to showcase your good practice, which will include what your service is, what your innovation good practice is, why you have innovated and the results you have seen so far. Upload it to twitter @OPSIgov using the tag #CallforInnovations.

Deadline for submission is the 21 February 2020.

Declaration on Public Sector Innovation 0 (0)

The OECD  Declaration on  Public Sector Innovation

The Declaration on Public Sector Innovation (The Declaration) was adopted on 22 May 2019 by 35 OECD members and 5 non-members, at the OECD Council meeting, at ministerial level. The Declaration aims to highlight innovation as a key and strategic function of public sector organizations and in the daily work of civil servants.

At national level, the Declaration is planned to be utilized by the Innovation Unit as a key tool in shaping the Greek public administration's innovation policy through the promotion of its principles using tools, methodologies, events and projects.

Debate on the Declaration

The draft of the Public Sector Innovation Declaration was submitted for discussion in November 2018 to the OECD Public Governance Committee.

At the meeting, the member states, including Greece, supported OPSI's actions in issuing the Declaration. OPSI promoted the draft Declaration in consultation through the OECD Member State Innovation Units, from November 2018 to April 2019 when it was approved to promote a more comprehensive and concise version at the OECD Council of Ministers.

On May 22, 2019, at the OECD Ministerial Meeting, the Declaration was endorsed by the OECD countries, including Greece.
