Description of innovation
The Municipality of Lefkada activated a modern digital service in order to inform and serve the citizens about COVID-19 and the precautionary measures that the citizens must take. To use the digital assistant, no additional application is required, as it works through the Facebook Messenger service. Citizens can access the service via their mobile phone or computer by clicking on the address: https://www.messenger.com/t/MunicipalityLefkada or by sending a message to the Facebook page of the Municipality of Lefkada.
In addition, citizens can subscribe to the instant information service of the digital assistant, in order to receive a message via messenger for all important updates, along with the classic to date ways of communication and information.
To inform and serve the citizens about COVID-19 and the precautionary measures they must take. To date, about 2,500 questions have been submitted by 500 people through the application.
The application was developed by the Municipality and there was no cooperation with another body.
Maintaining and integrating innovation after the COVID-19 crisis
The application will continue to operate after the crisis, providing information on various actions of the Municipality of Lefkada, such as cleaning. In addition, the application is upgraded so that since someone visits the website of the Municipality, a pop-up with the application automatically appears so that he can send his message directly on the topic he wishes to be informed about.
