Innovation Observatory

At the Public Sector Innovation Observatory, we have published to date, 43 innovative actions and practices of public sector organisations. The process of posting new innovative actions is in progress and the Innovation Repository is constantly updated.
According to the data we have received, 53.49% of innovations are designed and implemented locally (e.g. Municipalities), verifying the perception that exists internationally that innovation is favored in environments where there is public service contact with citizens and businesses.
We also notice that a large percentage of innovations is aimed at improving or creating new services as well as strengthening processes. It is noted that there is an increasing trend in developing innovations that aims to improve the collection, processing and use of data to support decisions.
Finally, the policy area in which public organizations focus in order to design innovative actions is mostly in the area of public administration (human resource management, redesign of internal processes, organizational improvement, use of new technology) while a significant share is in health (18.6%) and social welfare (16.28%) sectors.
More information, on the following visualization table, which is constantly updated, and for detailed information on public organisations innovative practices, please visit the Innovation Repository.
