Ministry of Interior is organizing an online event for Public Sector Innovation and the search for the next day after the COVID-19 pandemic. The event is part of a series of events that take place on the same day in different countries of the world and which are related to or part of the Government After Shock event organized by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).



What is Government After Shock OPSI, OECD

Government After Shock (GAS) is a two-day event of local, national and international character that takes place simultaneously on 17 and 18 November 2020 in OECD countries and aims to activate an international dialogue on how the Public Sector should adapt to new circumstances as a result of the crisis after the outbreak of the pandemic. The goal of GAS is to create a global collaborative proposal of what we need to change or even what we need to create in order for the Public Sector to manage crises and uncertainty in a more efficient and innovative way.

Ministry of the Interior Conferance: November 17, 2020

The General Secretariat for Human Resources of the Public Sector, Ministry of Interior participates in the global dialogue organized by national innovation units of the OECD Member Countries on the same day. 

On November, 17 Ministry of the Interior organises the conferance “Innovation Management for Administrative Capacity Development in the Public Sector: What we have learned from the COVID-19 Pandemic Crisis”, which aims to feed the global dialogue with the positions and proposals of the greek publc sector administration.

At the conference, we present the innovation policy in the Public Sector and through discussions and interactive participation of speakers and participants we focus on the search for the role of innovation management in the handling of the COVID -19 crisis but also in preparation of the next day.

In this context, we seek answers to what concerns us while the participants get to know and exchange views on innovations that were posted on the Innovation Repository of the Ministry of Interior.

Ministry of the Interior Conferance Structure

The Conference is structured in two parts.

In the first part, in a round table discussion, the guests, coming from public authorities with an important role in dealing with the pandemic, will present how they managed the COVID 19 crisis in their policy field.

Conference participants will be introduced to the innovations developed, their objectives and design process, followed by a discussion, focusing on the innovation management techniques applied. In the discussion we will be concerned with the new reality that is being formed, the new challenges and opportunities that are emerging and the role of innovation in the planning of the next day. Participants will be able to submit their questions and opinions electronically, participating in the design of the conference seats.

In the second part, an interactive workshop will be held in which the participants will be introduced to the innovation “4 Facets Model” developed by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. The guests will be able to participate in an interactive way with a special application, taking an active role in the implementation of the workshop

How you can participate in the preparation of the conference of the Ministry of Interior

The conference focuses on three questions, as posed in the general context of the OECD event. The aim is to note key issues and problems, identify opportunities and priorities, and integrate some of them into the multilevel action of public organizations.

We would therefore like your input by completing the following questionnaire regarding thοse questions. The answers that will be collected, will be grouped by our Department, will provide feedback to the Greek conference and will be sent to the OECD on behalf of the Greek public administration.

The questionnaire is addressed to employees of public organizations regardless of level. Completion of the questionnaire implies acceptance of the Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy.
